Christopher Nolan’s latest movie, Oppenheimer, has a teaser trailer online.
The main thing I’m getting from that trailer is, that he wore a hat! So Oppenheimer is a man that changed the world and wore a hat.
The movie is based on the book by Kai Bird and Martin J Sherwin, a biographical novel called American Prometheus. It will follow Oppenheimer as he works in a lab during the Manhattan Project era.
Cillian Murphy is the man himself, and starring alongside him is Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Dane DeHaan, and Jack Quaid.
This movie marks the spilt between Warner Brothers and Nolan, due to the handling of his last movie, Tenet, during the pandemic.
Oppenheimer went into a bidding war with a few companies, with Universal Pictures winning and handling the distribution of the movie.
Nolan is one of those directors that thinks he’s better than he actually is. I’m not denying he has made some amazing movies, but he’s also made some portentous crap. I have to say, the teaser for this is edging towards portentous for me. What do you think of it?
