Mad Max Fury Road was a sleeper hit for George Miller and the team. Everyone kind of rolled their eyes at another Mad Max movie, especially one without Mel Gibson. However, it went on to take about $375 mill worldwide and gave us the character of Furiosa.
Because it made money, obviously they had to get another one made, so the movie Furiosa went into production, a prequel about the character, played by Charlize Theron in Fury Road.
Some images have appeared online of Chris Hemsworth, who is playing Dementus, and more of Anya Taylor-Joy as the younger Furiosa.
She’s got the green arm, meaning we might see how she loses it somewhere in this prequel.
Miller has said the movie will span a 15 year period, so the images show Demntus, younger and then a little older with grey hair.
The synopsis of the movie, so far, is:
As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by the Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.
Furiosa is due out on 24th May 2024.
