Willem Dafoe slowly goes crazy, trapped when a robbery goes wrong and ending up Inside. A new trailer has just landed online. I’ll warn you now, there’s a trailer for the trailer.
If it stars Willem Dafoe, it’s pretty much a given that it is going to be good unless it’s Antichrist, although Shawn and myself like that one too. Inside looks great though, any movie with Dafoe going insane and I’m up for that. The tagline for the movie is:
“This is not Willem Dafoe.”
Which makes it sound even more interesting. The main story is:
“Nemo, a high-end art thief, is trapped in a New York penthouse after his heist doesn’t go as planned. Locked inside with nothing but priceless works of art, he must use all his cunning and invention to survive.”
Inside is directed by Vasilis Katsoupis, a newcomer, and written by Ben Hopkins, again, a relative newcomer. Universal International has described Inside as “thought-provoking”, saying it:
“…explores an experience we’re all now familiar with – isolation – and explores it in a visually stunning way.”
So it is like lockdown, but just not in your own house. It’s interesting that art seems to be a focus of the movie. I have a feeling I know what the ending will be. What are your thoughts?
Inside is due out in March 2023.
