I find Shudder a bit hit and miss, some of their stuff is good, and some of it is just bad. This trailer for Glorious though might be in the good category.
An evil life-sucking demon on the other side of a glory hole, we’ve all been there, right guys? Guys?
The movie plot is:
After a breakup, Wes ends up at a remote rest stop. He finds himself locked inside the bathroom with a mysterious figure speaking from an adjacent stall. Soon Wes realizes he is involved in a situation more terrible than he could imagine.
Glorious stars Ryan Kwanten, JK Simmons, Sylvia Grace Crim, Andre Lamar, and Tordy Clark. It is directed by Rebekah McKendry, and written by people I’ve not heard of. No offense to them, but they haven’t done anything that is on my radar.
The director has said about it:
“Glorious speaks to my adoration of Lovecraft, gore, absurdist humor, philosophy, and the type of transgressive movies that leave you thinking ‘I can’t believe I just saw that’ It is a wild mix of horror, humor, and heady moralistic concepts about our own existential realizations of who we really are, forcing each of us to stare into our personal abyss. And sometimes, the abyss stares back… and maybe has a favor to ask.”
As I said, it looks like fun.
